My name is Andrew Hawes. I am a Southern California based freelance creative with a specialty in Photography and Videography.
The most important thing in making good imagery is evoking feeling. I believe that the final product’s feeling is what determines the work’s quality. We’re all flooded with imagery in the modern world and the only works that can cut through all the noise are the ones that make people feel something. Sometimes getting the job done right means delivering the most professional and clean work possible, sometimes it’s getting outside the box and abandoning conventional ideas of quality to make something that stops the doom scroll. I’ve assisted and done lighting for brands like Disney, Billabong, Roxy, DC Shoes, Famous Footwear, Sketchers, RVCA, Jockey, Element, and Von Zipper to name a few. I’ve had the pleasure of assisting and learning from some of the top commercial and art photographers in the world, but I was originally completely self-taught. My broad palette and skillset comes from a combination of my high-level technical knowledge and creativity.
I’m here to make connections with more people, I’m here to help people’s businesses thrive and to convey other people’s visions, I’m here to convey my vision, I’m here to create work that I’m proud of, and I’m here because I thrive off of the emails that tell me my work exceeded expectations and was more than what was expected.
